Mounting Plate Installation (Text)

Remove mounting plate and 3 self-drilling screws from the plastic bag. Set the screws aside.
Determine where you want to mount Bed Buddi. For vertical mounting, we recommend the lip face closest to the cab of the truck. For horizontal mounting, the lip must be on the bottom side of the plate, facing the bottom of the bed. Note: when installing onto a plastic bedliner, please ensure that the plastic is in contact with the metal of the bed at the three hole locations. The screws must secure to the metal, beneath the plastic, or they will pull through the plastic bedliner.
Mark the top hole for vertical mounting, and the middle hole for horizontal mounting.
Using a provided 3/4 inch self-drilling screw, screw the plate into the marked point of the bed. No pilot-hole pre-drilling required. Note: For trucks with composite beds, start the screw with the drill and then HAND TIGHTEN ONLY until the screw head is firmly against the mounting plate. Do NOT over-tighten. Use this same process for all 3 screws.
With the lead screw installed, level the bracket accordingly and screw in the remaining self-drilling screws.
Attach Bed Buddi to the bracket.
